A complete exterior refresh

Plan the whole home, down to the trim.

A fresh paint job should bring the exterior together. Baker Siding Pros paints existing homes and newly installed siding throughout Sammamish, Issaquah, Bellevue, Redmond, Snoqualmie, North Bend, and nearby Eastside communities.

Surfaces we can include

  • Paintable fiber-cement siding, including James Hardie
  • Cedar and other suitable wood siding
  • Window and door trim, corner boards, and accent details
  • Fascia, soffits, porch ceilings, and columns
  • Paintable exterior doors and garage doors

Each surface is evaluated for condition and compatibility. Your estimate lists exactly what is included.

Paint with the exterior in mind

Our siding and trim experience helps us recognize when a surface needs repair before paint. Loose boards, deteriorated trim, and moisture problems need attention so the new finish has a sound base.

Factory-finished materials, vinyl, metal, and previously stained surfaces need a specific coating and color review. Deck walking surfaces require their own suitable coating system and a separately defined scope.

From first look to final coat

Our exterior painting process.

A lasting finish starts well before the paint goes on. We plan preparation, repairs, protection, priming, and application together, then work around the conditions your chosen coating requires.

  1. Walk the exterior and define the scope

We review the siding, trim, fascia, soffits, doors, existing paint, and access around your home. We look for peeling coatings, open joints, exposed wood, and visible damage. Your written estimate identifies the surfaces to be painted, preparation, repairs, selected paint, colors, and sheen.

  2. Choose the paint system and colors

We help you compare Sherwin-Williams options for your home’s materials, exposure, appearance, and budget. Body, trim, and accent colors are coordinated with the roof, stone, brick, and other finishes. Review physical samples in daylight and shade, and confirm any required HOA approval before final selection.

  3. Wash and allow the surfaces to dry

We remove dirt, loose surface contaminants, and mildew using cleaning methods suited to the siding and existing finish. Washing is controlled to protect the surface and avoid forcing water behind siding or into openings. The exterior must dry adequately before preparation and coating continue.

  4. Protect the home and surrounding property

Windows, roofing, fixtures, hardscaping, and other surfaces outside the painting scope are masked or covered as appropriate. We plan access around landscaping and outdoor belongings and take care to control paint drips and overspray.

  5. Scrape, sand, and address repairs

Loose and peeling paint is removed, rough edges are feathered, and glossy areas are prepared as needed for adhesion. Deteriorated siding or trim and moisture concerns are identified before coating. Necessary repair work is discussed and approved as part of the scope before proceeding.

  6. Caulk the appropriate joints

Failed sealant is addressed and suitable paintable exterior caulk is used at joints and transitions that require sealing. We follow the siding and trim manufacturer’s details, keeping drainage openings and required clearances open. Caulk is allowed to cure as specified before painting.

  7. Prime for adhesion and a consistent finish

Bare wood, exposed areas, repairs, stains, and other surfaces requiring primer receive a compatible primer before finish painting. Stain-blocking or bonding primers are selected where needed. Whether spot priming or a full primer coat is appropriate depends on the surface and selected coating system, and is defined in the preparation scope.

  8. Apply two full finish coats

Every surface included in the painting scope receives two separate, full finish coats of the specified paint. This includes the agreed siding, trim, fascia, soffits, and paintable door surfaces. We use brush, roller, or spray application with back-brushing or back-rolling where appropriate, following the product’s coverage, film thickness, and drying requirements between coats.

  9. Check the details and complete the walkthrough

We inspect coverage, finish consistency, edges, and trim details, address touch-ups, and remove masking and job debris. We walk through the completed scope with you and review the products, colors, and care information so you know how to look after the finished exterior.

The finishing decisions

Colors, sheen, and Northwest weather.

Coordinate body, trim, and accents

We help you think through how siding colors work with the roof, masonry, windows, landscaping, and neighboring homes. A trim or front-door accent can add definition while keeping the overall look cohesive.

Flat finishes soften the appearance of surface irregularities; low-lustre and satin add a subtle sheen; glossier finishes can emphasize suitable doors and trim. The available choices depend on the paint line. Physical samples help confirm the appearance before the job.

Respect the drying window

We plan around rain, dew, humidity, surface temperature, and the drying time between coats. The surface must be ready, and application and curing conditions must follow the selected product’s instructions.

A weather-adaptive coating does not make a wet surface ready to paint. If conditions could compromise the finish, we adjust the schedule and keep you informed.

Know what to expect

Exterior painting questions.

Do you really apply two coats to everything?

Yes. Every surface included in the agreed painting scope receives two separate, full finish coats: siding, trim, fascia, soffits, and paintable doors when those items are included. Each coat is applied at the specified coverage and allowed the required drying time. Two spray passes during a single wet application are not our definition of two coats.

Is primer included, and does it count as a coat?

Proper priming is part of our preparation process. We prime bare areas, repairs, stains, and other surfaces that require it, using a compatible primer selected for the job. The condition of the exterior determines whether spot priming or a full primer coat is needed. Primer does not count toward your two finish coats, even when the finish paint is described as self-priming.

Which Sherwin-Williams paint should I choose?

We compare your budget, surface condition, exposure, color, sheen, and maintenance priorities. A-100 and SuperPaint offer value-oriented choices; Duration and Emerald provide premium options with different performance features. Rain Refresh adds dirt-shedding technology, while Latitude addresses application conditions. We identify the exact product in your estimate before work begins.

Can you paint my home without replacing the siding?

Yes. Full exterior house painting is available as a standalone service. We assess the existing siding and trim first and explain any repairs that should be completed before painting. You can also combine the painting with a full re-side or other exterior work.

How much will it cost, and how long will it take?

We base the estimate on exterior surface area, height and access, preparation, repairs, trim detail, colors, and selected products. Weather and drying times also affect the schedule. Your free estimate provides a defined scope and a project-specific plan.

How should I care for the new finish?

Follow the selected paint’s cure and cleaning instructions. Periodically inspect joints and exposed areas, keep plants from rubbing against the siding, clean gently when needed, and address leaks promptly. Even premium and self-cleaning coatings benefit from regular care.
